Int'l agricultural, food forum kicks off in Bulgaria

Xinhua, March 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

Seven exhibitions related to agriculture, food, wine and tourism with the participation of over 650 companies from 25 countries kicked off at the International Fair here on Wednesday.

Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva said at the opening ceremony that the five-day event was a "mega forum uniting Bulgarian agriculture."

The fair would directly support farmers, Taneva said, adding that the agricultural sector was inextricably linked with the expectations of society for economic growth and increasing income.

Ivan Sokolov, board chairman of the International Fair Plovdiv, said: "Here you can see all the way from the field to the table as a journey through the world of technology and innovation, traditional and modern manufacturing, and creative marketing solutions."

The exhibitions include nearly 40 additional events such as seminars, culinary demonstrations and tastings. Endit
