Jordan king vows to fight persistently agaist terrorism

Xinhua, March 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

King Abdullah II of Jordan on Tuesday said Jordan will remain strong in the face of threats and challenges.

In an address to the nation at the state-run Jordan TV, the king stressed the importance of continued efforts to defend the true image of Islam and fight terrorism.

The king added that Jordan will remain strong with the unity of its people from all origins.

Unity is key to face sectarian violence and conflicts in the region, he said.

On fighting terrorism, King Abdullah said those who claim to kill in the name of Islam have nothing to do with Islam.

"Those who torture, kill and violate people rights are enemies of Islam," said the king.

Jordan, which called for forming an Arab front to fight terrorism, is part of the U.S.-led coalition to combat the Islamic State. Endit
