Injured Alan out of Guangzhou's Champions League clash with Wanderers

Xinhua, March 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Brazilian forward Alan Douglas was forced out of Guangzhou Evergrande's squad for Wednesday's match against Western Sydney Wanderers due to a left knee injury, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

Alan was diagnosed as medial accessory ligament damage, and a further examination will be made on Wednesday to find out if there is any injury on his cruciate ligament, Guangzhou's team doctor told Xinhua.

"It is for sure that Alan will miss tomorrow's match, we hope his cruciate ligament is OK because we don't want to lose him for a long time," the doctor said.

The Brazilian fell to the ground all of a sudden during Tuesday's training session and bursted into tears when he was carrying out of the pitch.

In February, Guangzhou evergrande spent 11 million euro to bring the 25-year-old to China from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. Endi
