Uganda's U23 team prepares for All Africa Games qualifier

Xinhua, March 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Uganda's U-23 football team has intensified preparations ahead of the second leg of the 2015 All Africa Games qualifier against Mozambique.

"We are working hard and also trying to get the striking line to get sharper," said coach Milutin "Micho" Sredojevic on Monday.

Uganda who managed to get a goalless draw in the first leg encounter in Maputo will be aiming to get a win and qualify for the next stage of the qualifiers to face Ghana.

Sredojevic said although his team is preparing hard and trying to get a good result, he respects the Mozambique team which has four foreign based players.

"We need to be very cautious and take our chances when we face them at Nakivubo Stadium on Saturday," said Sredojevic.

Midfielder Farouk Miya, who featured for the senior team in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier and captained the team during the first leg, said he is confident they will utilize the home advantage and win the game.

"We know that it will be a tough game against a good side, but we call upon all football loving Ugandans to come and support us so that we win the game," said Miya. Endi
