Indian foreign secretary arrives in Bangladesh as part of SAARC journey

Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar Monday arrived in Bangladesh from Bhutan as part of his journey to all SAARC countries.

Sources said Jaishankar will meet Bangaldeshi prime minister and foreign minister during his daylong trip to the country.

"During the visit, both sides would discuss key issues like the Land Boundary Agreement and a water deal from Teesta river," the sources said.

The Indian foreign secretary will fly to Pakistan Tuesday and then to Afghanistan, as part of his "SAARC yatra (journey)" which is aimed at bolstering India's ties with all SAAR countries.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month announced the foreign secretary's visit to SAARC countries, just before the start of the World Cup cricket. Endi
