Urgent: U.S. dollar rises despite downbeat data

The U.S. dollar rallied against other major currencies on Thursday despite the overall negative economic data from the country.

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1199 dollars from 1.1356 dollars in the previous session, while the dollar bought 119.44 Japanese yen, higher than 118.86 yen of the previous session. Endite
