Charlize Theron, Jean Paul Gaultier among stars to attend Life Ball 2015

Xinhua, February 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Hollywood actress Charlize Theron and French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier will among the prominent guests of the Life Ball 2015 at the Vienna Town Hall on May 16, organizers of the event said Thursday.

The event, held annually to raise awareness for people with AIDS and HIV, will this year bear the motto "ver sacrum" meaning "sacred spring," as a tribute to the Vienna Secession, and will feature gold as a theme.

Local media is speculating over whether Theron's visit will mean her partner, fellow Hollywood actor Sean Penn, will also be in attendance.

The South African-born actress plans to attend the First Ladies Luncheon in the Belvedere palace in the Austrian capital, organized by Austrian First Lady Margit Fischer.

She will deliver a keynote speech to highlight the work of her charity, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) that assists young Africans in dealing with AIDS and HIV.

Gaultier will be attending exactly 20 years since his first Life Ball visit in 1995. The fashion designer has also been active in campaigning for AIDS and HIV awareness, and will select fashion outfits on display during the fashion parade to open the ball. Endit
