Tokyo shares rebound higher by break on Yellen's comments

Tokyo shares rebounded the morning session slightly higher Wednesday with Nikkei stocks index hitting a fresh nearly 15-year high on U.S. Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen's comment that signaled the central bank will not hurry to raise its key interest rate.

The 225-issue Nikkei index gained 25.50 points, or 0.14 percent, from Tuesday to 18,628.98 after briefly hitting 18,648.77, the highest intraday level since April 2000.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 3.43 points, or 0.23 percent, to 1,511. 71. Endi
