1st LD Writethru: SAS baggage handlers resume work after brief strike

Xinhua, February 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Baggage handlers of Scandinavian Airlines, or SAS, at Copenhagen Airport, returned to work after a brief strike on Tuesday that had forced the airliner's flights to be cancelled or delayed.

The airport updated at 1145 GMT on its website "SAS' that baggage employees have resumed work," adding that "delays and cancellations should be expected the rest of the day."

SAS had so far canceled 10 departures, among which are the flights to Tokyo and Oslo.

The press officer of SAS Trine Kromann Mikkelsen said this is an illegal work stoppage.

The workers who were on strike are unsatisfied with an agreement made in autumn 2014, according to Mikkelsen.

This is the third strike by SAS Ground Handling crew members since June. Endit
