Singapore stocks close 0.48 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 16.31 points or 0.48 percent to close at 3,437.61.

A total of 1.07 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 25 billion Singapore dollars (919.1 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 226 to 194, while 514 others finished unchanged.
