Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office hold a celebration for the Chinese lunar new year in London on Monday night, with about 500 people from political and business circle attending.

Ms Erica Ng, the Director-General, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London said:" Hong Kong's economy is forging ahead like a particularly energetic Ram. This is largely due to our long-standing commitment to free and fair enterprise."

"The world's investors recognize the opportunity created by our economy. Hong Kong's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows reached a high level of 77 billion U.S. dollars in 2013. Much of this investment comes from British companies," said Ms Erica Ng.

Ms Erica Ng stressed Hong Kong is China's global financial center. Hong Kong also remains one of the top three international financial centers in the world.

In the future, Ms Erica Ng said the office would further boost incentives for entrepreneurs in various ways. These include relaxing and simplifying admission requirements for entrepreneurs who plan to start and develop their business in Hong Kong.

Wuji Ensemble, a Chinese traditional orchestra from Hong Kong, played the traditional Chinese stringed instrument called the pipa in the celebration. A traditional Chinese lion dance was also performed. Endit
