Slovakia expects to benefit from trade agreement between EU, U.S.

Xinhua, February 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Slovakia could benefit from the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) created by the EU and the U.S., announced Slovak Member of European Parliament (MEP) Ivan Stefanec on Monday.

"I support the Partnership exactly because Slovakia is a country that could gain the most out of such an agreement," said Stefanec, adding that the TTIP is the most important treaty the EU has ever prepared.

Stefanec stated that all analyses show that the TTIP is as advantageous for Europe as it is for the U.S.

"If we have mutual cooperation, we'll dismantle all the barriers and introduce standards. From this perspective, the TTIP could be very helpful in terms of growth and the creation of jobs," pointed out Stefanec. Endit
