Xinhua, February 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

An eight-year-old boy was killed and eight others injured when a bomb went off in a market area in Pakistan's northwest Chaman district on Sunday afternoon, local media reported.

ARY News said that the bomb exploded in the parking lot of a busy market at Taj Road of Chaman, a district located in the country's southwest Balochistan province.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital where at least two of them were reportedly in critical condition.

Police said that the bomb was triggered off by a remote controlled device and explosive materials were fixed in a car parked in the parking lot of the market.

Two motorbikes and several vehicles were also destroyed in the blast.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Heavy contingent of police rushed to the blast site and cordoned off the area for investigations. Endi
