Two trains collide in a head-on smash in Switzerland

Xinhua, February 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two trains have collided in a head-on smash early Friday morning near Zurich in Switzerland, injuring at least five people, local Ruzich police source told Xinhua.

According to police, the crash happened at a train station in the town of Rafz.

A passenger on one of the trains claimed that the crash occurred because one of the locomotives jumped a red light, but the official cause of the accident is not yet clear.

The crash comes after a similar one in Switzerland last year that saw a passenger train with 140 people on board derail into a ravine, injuring 11 passengers. Endi
