Indian gov't asks main opposition party to vacate headquarters in national capital

Xinhua, February 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Indian government has asked the country's main opposition Congress party to vacate its headquarters in the national capital, along with three other bungalows.

The Indian Urban Development Ministry recently served a notice to the Congress party to vacate the four bungalows, including one on Akbar Road, which has been the party's headquarters for decades, stating the allotment of the same has been cancelled.

A senior Congress party member has confirmed the receipt of the notice. "Yes we have got the notice and replied to it," senior leader Motilal Vora told the media late Thursday evening.

There has been no official reaction from the government on the issue yet. Endi
