U.S. stocks closed mixed after wavering narrowly between gains and losses Thursday, with the S&P 500 hitting a new intraday record of 2,102.13 points, as investors continued to meditate on the impact of negotiations over Greece's bailout.

The Dow dropped 0.2 percent, and the S&P 500 lost 0.1 percent while the Nasdaq added 0.4 percent. Endite
