Chinese New Year Countdown Party held at Singapore's Chinatown

A Chinese New Year countdown party with live performances and a vibrant countdown was held in the heart of Singapore's Chinatown from Wednesday evening until midnight, ushering in the Year of the Sheep.

The annual countdown party featured a medley of festive songs, vibrant dances and skits to interactive games, culminating in a rousing display of firecrackers and spectacular fireworks.

Thousands of people converged at the main street across Chinatown to taste the festival atmosphere. The theme of this year 's Chinese New Year celebrations is "abundance of joy and prosperity."

According to the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee, the organizer of this year's celebrations, visitors can appreciate street decorations of 338 goat-shaped lanterns as well as 1,500 glistening golden coin lanterns, which will be kept lightening until March 19.

Both local and foreign visitors can also feast on various traditional and modern Chinese New Year delicacies at 440 stalls of the Festive Street Bazaar in Chinatown.

Other events such as Chinatown Chinese New Year Walking Trail, Pioneers' Day Out, Nightly Stage Shows were also held. Endi
