EU launches 11 mln USD education capacity development project in Cambodia

The European Union on Monday launched the second phase education capacity development project worth 11 million U.S. dollars in Cambodia, aiming at strengthening the skills of educators.

Cambodian Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron and Jean-Franois Cautain, Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia, jointly announced the 2-year project.

"The project aims to strengthen the skills of the staff of the ministry of education at all levels related to the planning, financing and management of the education sector so that they can provide an efficient and effective education services for Cambodia, " Hang Chuon Naron said.

He said it will have greater impact and enable the government to implement and sustain actions to improve the entire education system.

The project was unveiled after the first 3-year project with the fund of 14 million U.S. dollars came to an end last year. Endi
