Japan's industrial output revised down to 0.8 pct in December

Xinhua, February 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Japan's industrial output in December last year rose by a seasonally adjusted rate of 0.8 percent on monthly basis, revised down from a preliminary 1.0- percent gain, government data showed on Monday.

The index of output at factories and mines stood at 98.7 against the base of 100 for 2010, compared with 98.9 in the initial data released on Jan. 30, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said.

The downward revision can be attributed to sluggish production of coffee and other beverages as well as pharmaceutical products, which was not reflected in the preliminary report, according to a ministry official. Endi
