A senior leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI) was seriously wounded after being shot at by unknown gunmen at his residence in the western Indian state of Maharashtra on Monday, said local media

Govind Pansare, a political bureau member of the CPI, and his wife suffered serious injuries after they were shot at in front of their house in Kolhapur city of Maharashtra, when the two were returning after a morning walk, said Press Trust of India.
