British Prime Minister David Cameron on Saturday slammed the shooting incident in Danish capital of Copenhagen, which left one man dead and three police officers wounded.

"I condemn the shootings in Copenhagen. Free Speech must always be protected," the prime minister said on his Twitter account.

The shooting occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m. local time (1500 GMT) at the cultural center Krudttoenden, where some international officials and Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks were attending a meeting named "Art, Blasphemy and Freedom of Expression."
