Xinhua, February 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

About 30 vehicles have been involved in a fatal crash because of fog on the motorway connecting London and Birmingham, the BBC said on Saturday.

But it reported that the police has not said how many people have died.

The Sky TV said that "a number of people were seriously injured".

The accidents occurred on the M40 in Oxfordshire between junction 9 at Bicester and junction 10 at Cherwell Valley service about 0745 GMT.

South Central Ambulance Service was quoted as saying that about 30 patients were at the scene.

Police said the road would be closed "for a number of hours" and have warned motorists to avoid the area. Endit
