Reporter shot dead in C. Philippines

A media practitioner was short dead in central Philippine province of Bohol on Saturday, said local police.

This is the second reporter to be killed this year in the country.

The victim was named Engr. Maurito Lim, a broadcaster for the local radio station DYRD, said Joie Pacito Yape, spokesperson of Bohol provincial police.

Yape said Lim was shot around 10:45 a.m. local time outside the radio station in Tagbilaran City in Bohol by a long gunman. He was later brought to local hospital where he died around 1:15 p.m..

The police is conducting manhunt operation and undergoing an investigation, said Yape.

Lim's death followed that of a female tabloid reporter who was killed by unknown suspects in Balanga, Bataan last month. Endi
