The Valentine's Day is just around the corner and young couples were awaiting it Friday in Myanmar.
Ahead of the day, venues of cafe, gift shops, shopping centers, movie theaters are occupied with couples wearing same color T- shirts which is one of the symbols of the Valentine's Day in the country.
More new designs for couple T-shirts are one of the attractions for young lovers to wear together at the lucrative day of the year as a custom.
Florists were busy all day getting orders ready.
"Most of the young people order roses in different colors designing in romantic way," Su Mon, owner of a floral service and gift center here said.
She said young people nowadays are placing importance on real flowers when the Valentine's Day is drawing near.
"We received orders from those abroad who want to send love gifts to their partners here," she added.
"We send them a photo of their gift, prior to their delivery, so they can see what their loved one is getting."
The most popular flowers for the Valentine's Day is rose, followed by lily and carnation, she said, adding that charges per bouquet vary depending on the number of roses.
Traditionally, red roses are symbolic of love and romance and is the universal way to say "I Love You" to someone special.
The number of roses carries a lot of meanings.
"It is so simple for us. We will visit pagoda in the early morning or go on a short trip which is not so far from Yangon to create sweet memory between us," a 25-year old office employee told Xinhua.
"He normally prepares something surprise for me, whenever he is in long distance," said a university student Chaw Su.
For real couples, they can spend every single day as the Valentine's Day, she said.
The demand for chocolates and fluffy dolls, which are must stuff for the day, Daw Shwe, supervisor of a supermarket, told Xinhua.
The Valentine's Day becomes a day for the lovers spending time together, having lunch and dinner at nice restaurants, watching movie together at the cinema halls.
Throughout Yangon city, different restaurants, bars and cafes are preparing special menus and discounts for the day.
Every restaurants, cafe and bakeries attracted the youngsters by offering valentine promotion with the basic theme of love and innovative concepts.
There will be the Valentine's Day couple competitions at some shopping centers.
A 25-year-old manager Moe Thauk said, "Sure, there will be a candle-lit dinner for just the two of us. After dinner, I will unveil my surprise for her."
Young couples find some ways to spend the big day that will not only be fun for both, but that will also actually help improve the relationship between them.
