Singapore stocks close 0.3 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 10. 33 points, or 0.30 percent, to close at 3,444.57.

A total of 1.09 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 974.2 million Singapore dollars (732.5 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 247 to 184, while 509 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 16.22 points, or 0.47 percent, to close at 3,434.24 on Tuesday. Endi
