EU, OSCE condemn explosions in Tirana of Albania

Xinhua, February 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

The delegations of the European Union (EU) and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to Albania on Tuesday strongly condemned three bomb attacks in Tirana, capital of Albania, earlier in the day.

"We underline our strong support for enforcement of the rule of law, without compromise. We trust that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and expect all political forces to unite in supporting this goal. We expect responsible behavior and discourse, in particular on rule of law issues, from all those who take part in public life, in Albania's national interests," said the EU delegation in a press release.

"The OSCE Presence in Albania strongly condemns all acts of violence. Violent acts have no place in a modern, democratic society. We call on all political forces to avoid politicization of today's attacks and to grant the relevant authorities the space to thoroughly investigate these acts and to identify and prosecute those responsible,"the OSCE press release reads.

A bus station, a private business owned by the father of Albanian Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, and a police apartment of a police were the targets of TNT attacks on Tuesday in Tirana. Endi
