German car producer BMW Group on Tuesday reported record high sales in January, continuing the trend from 2014.
A total of 142,154 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce vehicles were delivered to customers in January, a year-on-year increase of 7 percent, according to the Bavarian car producer.
BMW Group reported sales increases in almost all regions following its self-proclaimed strategy of balanced sales across the globe. In the Chinese mainland, deliveries increased by 7.9 percent, the company noted.
"This is a positive start, building on the success of last year," said Ian Robertson, member of the board of management responsible for sales and marketing.
"We are aiming for further growth in 2015, despite challenging economic conditions in some markets. There are a number of very exciting model launches coming up this year and our target is to increase global sales for a fifth successive year," Robertson added.
Last year, BMW Group delivered for the first time more than two million vehicles, setting a new sales record in a single year. Endit
