No plans to send arms to Ukraine, says Polish defense minister

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Tomasz Siemoniak on Tuesday said Poland had no plans of sending heavy equipment to Ukraine.

In an interview with Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza, Siemoniak said currently Poland does not intend to send Grom anti-aircraft missile sets, tanks or any other armament of the kind to Ukraine.

However, he added, there were no objections to Polish and Ukrainian defense industries cooperating. Poland has already aided the Ukrainian army by sending blankets and food rations.

"It is in the Polish interest that there is peace in Eastern Ukraine," Siemoniak said, adding Poland continue to monitor events and decide what kind of aid measures to take in order to support Ukraine.

Siemoniak underlined that Poland supports the Minsk agreement and the suspension of hostilities from all sides. Endit
