Singapore stocks close 0.47 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 16.22 points, or 0.47 percent, to close at 3,434.24.

A total of 974 million shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 1 billion Singapore dollars (828 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 207 to 204, with 529 others unchanged.
