Malaysia's federal court to announce verdict on Anwar's sodomy case

Xinhua, February 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Malaysia's Federal Court will deliver its verdict on the final appeal of the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim Tuesday morning.

Police have set up fences around the Palace of Justice since early morning.

Hordes of reporters, photographers and videographers began to converge in front of the complex since 6 a.m. local time.

Speaking to a crowd of about 2,000 people at a gathering of his supporters Monday, Anwar said he was innocent and would fight against any corrupted and racist system in the country.

He said he would not accept any decision by the Federal Court other than that of his freedom for his verdict.

If Anwar loses his appeal, he will be disqualified as the member of parliament. Endi
