Five army technicians were in injured in an accidental explosion at the Thai Army Ordnance Department in Bangkok on Monday, army spokesman Winthai Suwaree said.

The explosion happened at around 10 a.m. local time (0300 GMT) when the technicians were disassembling a rocket-propelled grenade launcher in which a grenade was stuck, Winthai was quoted by the Bangkok Post as saying. (Thailand-Explosion)

SEOUL -- South Korea's ex-spy agency chief on Monday was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of intervening in the 2012 presidential election.

The Seoul High Court overturned a previous low court ruling, which gave Won Sei-hoon, head of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), a prison term of two and a half years.

NEW DELHI -- A 20-year-old Japanese student has been allegedly raped by a local tour guide in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, a senior police official said on Monday.

"The alleged incident took place in Dudu near the state's capital Jaipur, where she had gone to attend a party with the tour guide late Sunday night. She had claimed that she was drugged and then raped by the tour guide," said the official, on condition of anonymity. (India-Japan-Tourist)

LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan -- Six militants including Taliban key commander Mullah Abdul Rauf were killed in southern Afghanistan's Helmand province on Monday, provincial police chief Nabi Jan Mullahkhil said.
