Deportivo down Eibar 2-0 in Spanish league

Xinhua, February 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Deportivo La Coruna defeated Eibar 2-0 thanks to two bad defensive errors by Eibar in the Spanish La Liga on Friday.

Lucas Perez scored his third goal of the season after Eibar goalkeeper Xabi Irureta raced forward to the edge of the penalty area and parried Oriol Riera's shot straight to him in the 52nd minute.

Ivan Neves sprinted forward to follow Borja Ekiza's lazy backpass and stole the ball off Irureta for his third league goal in the 80th.

Deportivo are lifted to provisional 11th-place on 24 points while Eibar remain eighth on 27.

Real Madrid are the league leaders on 54 points after 22 rounds ahead of their derby clash with Atletico Madrid on Saturday, followed by Barcelona on 50, which will travel to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. Endi
