Sri Lanka's FM to meet John Kerry next week

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera is to meet with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry next week, a statement from the island nation's foreign ministry said on Friday.

The foreign minister will leave for his first visit to the U.S. since taking office last month.

He is expected to meet Kerry on Feb. 12 and later in the day discuss relations between the two countries at an event hosted by the National Press Club in Washington.

Samaraweera will also discuss Sri Lanka-U.S. relations at a special briefing and reception on Thursday, said a short notice from the foreign ministry. Endi
