Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi met here with her British counterpart Phillip Hammond on Wednesday, agreeing to improve bilateral trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

"Even though all parameters have demonstrated strong growth, we agree to attain further cooperation in trade and investment," Retno said in a joint press conference.

Retno said the bilateral trade with Britain has been in excellent condition, adding that Britain is Indonesia's fourth largest trade partner in Europe.

As of the fourth quarter last year, Britain ranked as the fifth largest investor at total amount of 1.6 billion U.S. dollars.

In the tourism sector, Britain is the most attractive European country visited by Indonesians, she added.
