Australian dollar bounces back above 78 U.S. cents

The Australian dollar bounced back above 78 U.S. cents on Wednesday before settling lower following the Reserve Bank's interest rate cuts and a rise in global stocks overnight.

On Wednesday morning the local currency was trading at 77.89 U. S. cents, but had risen to 78.48 U.S. cents overnight from 76.63 U. S. cents on Tuesday. Endi
