Die Welt:
- After Troika's spectacular expulsion, the new Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has sought to heal the emerging rift in the debt dispute with the European donors. "Although there are different perspectives, I am very confident that we can make a mutually satisfactory agreement soon, for Greece and for Europe as a whole," said Tsipras. "We need time to breathe and to work out our own medium-term reform program."

- After the fierce disputes of the past days, EU Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker took on the responsibility for coordinating the discussions of the EU partner with the new government in Greece and has invited the new Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras for talks. At the same time, Tsipras tried to limit the damage and sent conciliatory signals to Euro countries, central bank and the markets. The new government leaves the the minimum wage untouched for the time being.

- The terrorist group Islamic State "(IS) killed their second Japanese hostage. The IS published on the internet in the Sunday night a video that shows apparently the beheading of journalist Kenji Goto who was kidnapped last October in Syria. Japan's Prime Minister Abe spoke of a "despicable terrorist act" after the release of the video. Endit
