Australian family of three killed in car crash

Xinhua, February 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Three family members, including a seven-year-old boy, were killed after their car veered off an Australian highway and smashed into a tree, police said Monday.

Police said Darren and Susana Milne were driving with their two sons in a silver Toyota station wagon about 150 km north of Sydney about 12.20 p.m. local time on Sunday when their car lost control and veered off the road into bushland.

The couple were killed instantly. Ambulance officers and paramedics tried to save a boy, 7, who was sitting in the back seat but he died at the scene. The older brother, aged 11, was fighting for his life in hospital with severe chest and leg injuries.

Police believed the Sydney family went on a day trip on Sunday to the beach and was returning home when the accident occurred. Endi
