Russian athletes dominated on the fourth day of 27th Winter Universiade in Strbske Pleso nad Osrblie in Slovakia here on Wednesday.

Russian biathletes won all the men's 12.5 km pursuit medals. Yuri Shopin claimed the gold. Iaroslav Ivanov and Maksim Burtasov took the silver and bronze respectively.

"Today it's different from yesterday. We changed the competition and for me the gunfire was clear. I am very happy, because it's really good for my career," said Shopin.

Russian skiers also made the 10km classic race into exhibition. Andrey Feller beat his countryman Artem Nikolaev with just a 0.8 seconds difference. The bronze medal went to Valeriy Gontar, who finished 10.1 seconds after the winner.

"The race was full of strong opponents and I sticked to the fastest ones, what helped me to reach the best final time," said Feller.

Russia also won gold in the women's biathlon and 5km cross-country skiing. Endi
