Roundup: Building collapses in Sarajevo, 2 killed

A building under construction partially collapsed in central Sarajevo on Wednesday, killing two workers and seriously injuring one bystander.

One worker died on the scene while another one died of injury in the hospital. A bystander was badly injured and remained in hospital.

Police officers, firefighters, and workers of Federal Administration of Civil Protection rushed to the scene after the collapse in one of most busy street in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The traffic for the street was closed until Tuesday morning, police said.

Director of Federal Administration of Civil Protection Fahrudin Solak said the investigation was underway, adding that the cleaning job was finished.

Collapsed building is supposed to be commercial and residential center named BHC, which is acronym of the company, owner of the building.

Construction work started last year, 2014. BHC building is located at the center Sarajevo, just across the street of Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. Endit
