Urgent: U.S. stocks retreat further on Fed statement, falling oil prices

U.S. stocks shaved early gains to drift lower Wednesday despite cheerful earnings, as the Federal Reserve's statement and falling oil prices weighed on market sentiment.

The Dow slipped over 1.1 percent, and the S&P 500 lost 1.4 percent while the Nasdaq dipped 0.9 percent. Endite
