Tokyo stocks open lower on Wall St. losses

Tokyo stocks opened lower early Wednesday, dragged down by overnight decline on Wall Street.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 93.14 points, or 0.52 percent, from Tuesday to 17,675.16.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 7.04 points, or 0.49 percent, at 1,419. 34.

Major decliners included mining, brokerage and machinery issues. Endi
