Singapore stocks close 0.40 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 13.68 points, or 0.40 percent, to close at 3,412.20.

A total of 1.85 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 49 billion Singapore dollars (1.13 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 267 to 187, while 487 others finished unchanged.
