A 5.1 magnitude earthquake jolted seas off central Philippine province of Negros Occidental at 3:09 p.m. local time on Monday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

No casualties and losses have been reported so far.

The epicenter of the quake was initially determined to be 9.83 degrees north latitude and 122.26 degrees east longitude with a depth of 21 km, the agency said.

The Philippines sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where continental plates collide, causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity. Endi
