4 die in fire in Gambia

At least four people have been confirmed dead in a fire in Gambia, fire officials said Sunday.

"The fire started in the early hours of Sunday after a lit candle caught the chair and intensified. We confirmed the death of four people, including two children, and the whole compound was burnt into ashes," an official told Xinhua.

It took several hours before the firefighters put off the blaze, eyewitnesses said. Endi
