A Dimitar Berbatov header kept Monaco rolling with victory over Lille on Saturday, while Bordeaux were held 0-0 at battling Bastia.
Bulgarian veteran Berbatov, turning 34 years old next week, netted a free kick from Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco in the 57th minute, before his volley went just wide late on.
Joao Moutinho also missed two good chances in what was a dominant display from the visitors.
With the 1-0 away victory, Monaco confirmed their fifth position in Ligue 1 and keep up the pressure on the fourth-placed Saint-Etienne with just one point deficit.
Bordeaux were unable to make the most of a 62nd minute red card to Yannick Cahuzac as they drew 0-0 at Bastia and stay on seventh place.
Guingamp held on for a 3-2 victory over Lorient despite being reduced to 10 men in the 80th minute, thanks to a brace from Claudio Beauvue.
Montpellier eased to a 4-0 victory over Nantes with goals from Paul Bastien Lasne, Kevin Berigaud, Anthony Mounier and Lucas Barrios.
With Marseille missing out their chance of going top by losing 2-1 to Nice on Friday, the 22nd round's focus is on third-placed Paris Saint-Germain and St-Etienne who meet each other on Sunday evening, while Lyon host Metz earlier on the day. Enditem
