Albanian insurance market grew by 36 pct in 2014

Revenues collected by gross written premium were about 11,624 million Lek (93 million U.S. dollar) in 2014, according to Financial Supervisory Authority (AMF) data reported by Albanian telegraphic agency on Saturday.

According to AMF figures the insurance market grew by 36.19 percent compared to 2013. Motor insurance schemes continued to dominate the country's insurance market, with insurance companies collecting some 65 percent of the total premium volume.

AMF notes that a coordinated increase in motor-related insurance scheme played a defining role in the growth of this market over the past year. (1 U.S. dollar = 125 Lek). Endit
