Sixers guard Wroten sidelined by knee injury

Xinhua, January 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tony Wroten will rest indefinitely because of a torn right knee ligament, the team announced Friday.

Wroten suffered the anterior cruciate ligament injury against New Orleans on January 16.

The team said no timeline for Wroten's return will be made until the operation takes place.

Wroten has averaged 16.9 points and 5.2 assists over 30 games this season in his second campaign with the 76ers.

At 8-34, the Sixers have the third-worst record in the NBA, just ahead of Minnesota (7-34) and the New York Knicks (7-36). Philadelphia and Minnesota each have a league-low three home wins in 20 such starts. Endi
