Roundup: Hong Kong stocks close at 4-month high

Hong Kong stocks moved up 1.34 percent to finish on Friday at their highest level in four and a half months.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index moved up 327.82 points to close at 25,850.45 points, its highest level since Sept. 8, after trading between 24,726.77 and 24,896.22. Turnover totaled 106.06 billion HK dollars (about 13.69 billion U.S. dollars).
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index ended up 212.79 points, or 1.77 percent, to close at 12,260.06.
All four sub-indices gained ground with the Properties ending up 2.16 percent, the Utilities 1.22 percent, the Commerce and Industry rising 1.20 percent and the Finance 1.26 percent.
Banking giant HSBC, which accounts for the largest weighting of the Hang Seng Index, edged up 1.67 percent to 73.10 HK dollars.
Bank of East Asia, one of the largest local banks in Hong Kong, ended up 1.77 percent to 31.70 HK dollars.
Local bourse operator HKEX moved up 0.79 percent to 179.30 HK dollars.
China Mobile, China's dominant mobile carrier, rose 1.16 percent to 104.50 HK dollars, while another Chinese telecom giant China Unicom moved down 0.50 percent to 12.04 HK dollars.
For the local property stocks, Sun Hung Kai, one of Hong Kong's largest property developer by market value, ended up 1.64 percent to 124.00 HK dollars; Cheung Kong properties, owned by billionaire Li Ka-shing, rose 3.04 percent to 145.80 HK dollars.
As for mainland-based financial stocks, China Construction Bank, the country's second largest bank which accounts for the third largest weighting of the Hang Seng Index, increased 1.09 percent to 6.49 HK dollars. ICBC, the world's largest bank by market value, moved up 1.57 percent with 5.84 HK dollars. Bank of China rose 1. 35 percent to 4.52 HK dollars.
As for energy stocks, China's top refiner Sinopec ended up 1.61 percent to 6.33 HK dollars. PetroChina, the country's largest oil and gas producer, ended up 2.53 percent to 8.92 HK dollars. (1 U.S. dollar equals 7.75 HK dollars) Endi
