Mainland, Taiwan plan Zhang Zhijun's visit to Kinmen

The Chinese mainland and Taiwan are planning a visit by the mainland's top Taiwan affairs official to Kinmen County, a mainland spokesman said Wednesday.

Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, said that the office and Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council are discussing the visit by Zhang Zhijun, head of the office.

The trip is likely to be scheduled in early February, with aims to to promote work discussed during Zhang's meeting with Taiwan's mainland affairs chief, Wang Yu-chi, in November 2014, Ma said.

It will be announced as soon as it is confirmed, he said.

The council has also said that it would invite Zhang to visit Kinmen in early February. Endi
