5 detained for E China parking shed fire

Five people have been detained by police for their roles in a parking shed fire that left eight dead in east China's Zhejiang Province, local authorities said on Tuesday.

Electric bikes caught fire around 4 a.m. on Jan. 14 at a shed in Jiefangtang Community in Yuhuan County, Taizhou City, leaving eight people dead. The victims include a four-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, according to the city's fire department.

Chen, head of Jiefangtang neighborhood committee and another four were detained, local police said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Endi
